Much of the
work at the North Penn Chamber of Commerce - the business of business
- would not be possible without the invaluable contributions of
many chamber members who voluntarily serve and work on our committees.
Working "behind the scenes," these efforts are spearheaded
by a dedicated group of business leaders intent on improving the
chamber and business community we serve. In addition to the rewards
of serving a community-minded organization, committee members
are also afforded additional opportunities to network, promote
their own businesses and make friends.
What follows
is a list of current chamber committees and a partial listing
of activities an areas of concern for each committee.

The Ambassador's Club is composed of members who act as ambassadors
for the chamber, serving as hosts for our many business card exchanges
and other events. The Ambassador's Club seeks to increase membership
in the North Penn Chamber through recruitment programs. Additionally,
the committee regularly makes telephone calls to chamber members
to survey their interests and concerns.

Each year
the Golf Outing Committee coordinates all details for the chamber's
annual golf tournament, which is an important non-dues fund raising
event. Included in the committee's functions are site selection,
marketing, and recruitment of door prizes.

The Governmental
Affairs Committee advises the chamber board and membership at
large on local, state and national legislative issues, and also
recommends and reviews chamber policy. Where governmental issues
transcend individual company interests, the committee lobbies
the legislature to effectuate changes that support businesses
and contribute to our local and state economy. The economic development
arm of the committee initiates and supports efforts that promote
the North Penn area and addresses the fundamentals for attracting
new businesses and retaining established businesses in our community.

Human Resource
professionals comprise this important committee, which sponsors
and develops various educational forums, seminars and workshops
for all chamber members to be kept abreast of current HR laws,
regulations and practices. Each quarter of the year, the committee
holds HR Roundtable programs, inviting chamber members to network
with professionals and to "bring their problems" to
the roundtable for resolution.

One of the
most popular programs at the chamber is the North Penn Chamber
Women's Network Group, organized "to support and elevate
women in business." Each month, the committee works to select
and feature speakers to address issues relevant to women in business.
The group coordinates programs to provide North Penn businesswomen
with an opportunity to network among influential women business
leaders.

Each year,
the North Penn Chamber hosts two important groups in recognition
of the invaluable work they do in our community. In the spring,
during Law Enforcement Week, the chamber hosts a banquet for all
local police and law enforcement officials from the North Penn
community. In the fall, the chamber hosts a banquet for local
firemen and emergency service personnel during Fire Prevention
Week. The Public Safety Committee works behind the scenes coordinating
each event and surveying the membership for annual award winners.
The banquets are made possible through the generous support of
the chamber membership.

The Small
Business Committee provides proactive programs, workshops and
services for prospective small businesses. The committee works
toward creating an environment in which small businesses can prosper
by encouraging development and growth through the sharing of knowledge,
resources and experience.

Formerly known
as the Expo Committee, the Special Events Committee organizes
and coordinates all aspects of the chamber's annual Business Fair
and Job Fair, including site selection, theme development and
coordination of exhibitors and sponsors.
